This is the deeper dive into the entry requirements, study options, support structure, and what each qualification prepares you for to accelerate your career. If you're serious about taking the next step, this is where you'll find the answers.

First, the Credentials That Matter

Before we get into the qualifications, let's talk about why they carry weight.

Boston is the first South African institution to hold ACBSP accreditation for specific programmes - awarded in December 2024 for ten years. The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs is recognised by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in Washington, DC. When employers in New York, London, or Nairobi see ACBSP on your CV, they know exactly what it means.

We're also institutionally accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC), a member of the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR). This validates our governance, quality systems, and student support - not just individual programmes, but the entire institution.

Add to that CHE accreditation for all qualifications, SAQA and DHET registration, membership of the Association of African Universities (AAU), and SABSA membership for our MBA.

Plus, graduates may be eligible for recognition by the Golden Key Honour Society.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) - NQF Level 9

ACBSP Candidate for Accreditation | 180 credits | 24 to 36 months

You'll develop competencies in strategic foresight, ESG-benchmarkable frameworks, responsible leadership, and data-informed decision-making. Entry requirement: A professional Bachelor's Degree (NQF Level 8, a Bachelor's Honours degree or a Postgraduate Diploma (NQF Level 8), and a minimum of three years working experience.
Career pathways: CEO, Division Director, Senior Executive, Management Consultant, Board Member, Entrepreneur.
Study options: 24, 30, or 36-month programmes. Working adults typically choose the 30 or 36-month track.

Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Human Resource Management - NQF Level 8

ACBSP Candidate for Accreditation | 120 credits | 1 year minimum

If you want to move from HR administrator to strategic partner, this is the HRM Honour Degree that gets you there.

You'll build expertise in strategic HRM, advanced labour economics, relations and law, organisational behaviour, corporate governance, and HR analytics. A dedicated research project develops your ability to investigate real organisational challenges using evidence-based thinking.

Entry requirement: BCom in Human Resource Management or equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification that includes HRM.
Career pathways: HR Manager, HR Business Partner, Talent Acquisition Specialist, Employee Relations Specialist, People Analytics Specialist, DEI Specialist.
Study options: 12, 18, or 24-month programmes.

Postgraduate Diploma in Management - NQF Level 8

ACBSP Accredited | 128 credits | 1 year minimum

The fastest route to formalising your management experience - and a direct pathway into the MBA.

Open to graduates of any Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma, this honours equivalent qualification builds 21st-century leadership skills: global marketing, legal awareness in the workplace, change management, financial management, and brand management.

Choose a specialisation in entrepreneurship, project management, or supply chain and logistics. A dedicated research project develops your ability to investigate real-world managerial challenges using evidence-based thinking.

Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting - NQF Level 8

SAICA Endorsed | 120 credits | 1 to 2 years

Your pathway to CA(SA).

Building on Boston's SAICA-endorsed Bachelor of Accounting, this programme prepares you for SAICA's Initial Assessment of Competence examination. Both qualifications align with the CA of the Future Competency Framework, integrating professional values, technical skills, and enabling competencies at the appropriate levels.

You'll deepen expertise in financial reporting, advanced auditing, taxation, and management accounting while developing the critical analysis, ethical judgment, and integrated problem-solving that define trusted leaders in commerce.

Advanced Qualification Options

Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Senior Phase and FET Teaching) - NQF Level 7

SAICA Endorsed | 120 credits | 1 to 2 years

South Africa needs qualified teachers. If you hold a relevant degree or a DHET-approved diploma, this programme provides you with the foundation to step confidently into the classroom.

You'll build practical teaching skills for Grades 7 to 12, complete structured teaching practice in real schools, and prepare for SACE professional registration. This online PGCE develops your ability to engage with subject matter critically, implement appropriate pedagogical approaches, and reflect on your practice.

Advanced Diploma in Adaptive Leadership - NQF Level

120 credits | 1 to 2 years

Leadership that works in the real world.

This isn't a generic management course. It's an immersive specialisation in adaptive leadership - a practical approach to solving business issues that guides leaders in identifying what matters and discarding what doesn't.
