Advertising, Communication & Public Relations
Public Relations Assistant Short Course
The Public Relations Assistant Short Course gives you a practical entry point into South Africa’s PR and communications industry. You explore how organisations manage public perception, build credibility and communicate across traditional and digital media. The course introduces you to core PR workflows so you understand how campaigns are executed, how messages are shaped and how media engagement supports brand reputation.
You also develop the supporting skills that PR teams rely on every day. This includes integrated marketing communication, media relations basics, newsroom and journalism principles, stakeholder communication, customer service, and essential office and digital competencies. Together, these skills prepare you to contribute meaningfully to PR administration, content support and frontline communication tasks.
