The FPI promotes professionalism, ethics, and financial planning standards in Southern Africa. They play a vital role in advancing the profession's and its members' interests. As a South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) recognised Professional Body, the FPI formally acknowledges relevant education and training providers and contributes to curriculum development for their programmes. These approved qualifications seamlessly integrate into the FPI's Progression Pathway.
A Significant Milestone
Our Higher Certificate in Financial Planning (SAQA ID 120380, NQF (HEQSF) Level 5, Credits 130) is now recognised as a qualification toward obtainment of the prestigious Registered Financial Practitioner® (RFP) designation with the FPI.
Starting in 2024, candidates who complete this qualification at Boston City Campus can apply for the RFP® designation without needing an additional professional competency examination with the FPI.
Rigorous Standards and Recognition
The FPI maintains a stringent evaluation and ongoing auditing process for approved Education Providers and essential qualifications required for designated membership. Our Higher Certificate in Financial Planning is also recognised by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) for Categories I (excluding 1.27 Crypto Assets) and IV for occupational/professional purposes.
This qualification is perfect for individuals who need to meet the FAIS Fit-and-Proper competency requirements or are new to the industry. The FSCA regulates financial institutions providing financial products and services, including banks, insurers, retirement funds, and more.
Gateway to Further Education
This unique higher education qualification provides a pathway to a rewarding career and grants graduates access to Diploma studies or an endorsement for admission to Bachelor’s degree studies from the South African Matriculation Board, subject to their rules.
