Entry Requirements
Grade 10 Certificate; or National Certificate: (Vocational) Level 2; or equivalent qualification. No previous knowledge of music or experience with any musical instrument is required.
The Business of Music is offered by Boston City Campus Head Office in the distance e-learning mode of provision, with all Boston City Campuses operating as Support Centres. Register at any of the forty-seven (47) Boston City Campus Support centres countrywide or online.
All modules are compulsory and must be passed.

SC Assessment Strategy 5 (ASSC5): Summative assessments (SA1 and SA2), in the form of a final exams (SA1 and SA2), will count seventy percent (100%) – fifty percent (50%) each – towards the overall mark.
- Demonstrate an understanding on navigating Rekordbox collection window.
- Demonstrate knowledge of working on export mode.
- Demonstrate knowledge of using performance mode for performances.
- Produce basic artist management techniques with a focus on building artist brands as DJ’s.
- Develop knowledge and an understanding of the underlying principles and concepts relating to music mixing and technical proficiency to apply these techniques universally.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the technical equipment from Pioneer.
- Demonstrate knowledge of troubleshooting fundamentals for a mobile DJ setup.
- Demonstrate knowledge of pre requisites for a radio mix DJ as well as quality assurance techniques required for a radio mix DJ.
