Boston City Campus is proud to announce its remarkable achievements at the inaugural South African Private Higher Education (SAPHE) Excellence Awards, a prestigious event honouring exceptional contributions to private higher education across South Africa. Held on 05 November 2024 in Johannesburg, the SAPHE awards recognise institutions and individuals advancing education standards in Teaching and Learning, Research, and Community Engagement.
Boston’s entry, prepared by Denver Grigg, Dr. Janet Viljoen, and Dr. Rob Stegmann, highlighted the institution’s unique impact on higher education through research-informed position papers and thoughtful approaches in each core area. This submission reflects Boston’s commitment to enhancing private higher education in South Africa.

- Dr. Janet Viljoen won in the Teaching and Learning category - "Organic and Iterative Curriculum Design: A Position Paper."
- Colette Heunes won in the Teaching and Learning category - "Re-Contextualising Work Integrated Learning in Open Distance Learning Higher Education."
- Prof. Cobus Oosthuizen won in the Teaching and Learning category - "AI in Teaching and Learning."
- Dr. Rob Stegmann won in the Teaching and Learning Category - "Postgraduate Learning and Teaching Strategy Open Distance e-Learning."
- Dr. Rob Stegmann achieved second runner-up in the Research category - "Reframing Research, Teaching, and Professional Practice Through the Lens of Scholarship."
